Uses
Simparica kills adult fleas, and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations, and the treatment and control of tick infestations from lone star ticks, Gulf Coast ticks, American dog tick, black-legged ticks and brown dog ticks for one month in dogs 6 months of age or older and weighing at least 2.8 lbs.
NOTE : Possible Side Effects
Side effects that usually are not serious include:
Vomiting, diarrhea.
Low energy level.
If any of these signs are severe, worsen, or continue to be a problem, contact your veterinarian.
Side effects that may be serious or indicate a serious problem:
Vomiting or diarrhea that does not stop.
Tremors, seizures.
Difficulty walking (eg, weakness, stumbling).
If you see any of these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately.
Drug & Food Interactions
There are no known contraindications to the use of Simparica.
Precautions
Simparica is for use only in dogs, 6 months of age and older. Simparica may cause abnormal neurologic signs such as tremors, unsteadiness, and/or seizures. Simparica has not been evaluated in dogs that are pregnant, breeding or lactating. Simparica has been safely used in dogs treated with commonly prescribed vaccines, parasiticides and other medications. The most frequently reported adverse reactions were vomiting and diarrhea.
